I forgot to put her stats in from her 2 month appointment.

We were originally told she was 21.3 in. long when she was born, but we have gotten a few different measurements, some of them shorter than 21", some longer, so we don't really have an exact, but 21" is on the doctor's office report. I love our doctor's office, as they give me a print out of her key measurements at each stage, not just the most current ones.

I took her in to get her shots, and it was so hard. The doctor said he doesn't give the shots so that he is still liked by the kids, and when the nurse came in to give them, she was happily sucking on her binky, waiting patiently for her next feeding (anytime Mom). We gave her the liquid one first, and then she got poked three times in the leg. The nurse warned me that moms usually cry on the first set of shots as well as the infants, but I didn't. I was so worried about her that I didn't get upset with her. She sure was mad! It was hard to hear, and her cry was full of anger and pain, which (luckily) I hadn't heard that kind before. Total, it lasted no more than 10 seconds, but she didn't cry for just that long. The nurse said that I could nurse her in the office as they didn't need that room for awhile, and so we were both able to cuddle and I was able to console her without feeling rushed out. I honestly think it helped her, not just calm down, but she didn't get a fever or get cranky the rest of that day, or even the following day. While I nursed her, I also moved her legs around so that the medication didn't just sit in her muscles, making it hard and painful for her later. We were slightly more careful with her poor legs all day, but she never acted in pain at all.

Lesson learned: Nurse her right after her shots and massage and move her legs around while nursing her. No sickness and no pain in her legs. Great first experience, but still not looking forward to the next one!

Cutest gift we ever received!!



I was given clothes from a friend and in it was this Halloween onesie. It fit her, so I dressed her in this wild and crazy outfit for the day. Trick or Treat anyone?



She found her fingers, and most of the time is not quite able to get some in to actually suck on, but she found these two. Sometimes she tries to put both hands in her mouth. We are really encouraging her to use the binky!

Another Month

We have really been enjoying this sweet little baby girl. Camree is such a joy and an easy baby. Patience really does pay off in the long run!!! Be ready for picture overload. We took Camree to a University of Utah Women's Basketball game and Gymnastic Meet, but neglected to get pictures. She has also enjoyed the Hogle Zoo this month.


Camree loves to smile, and has added cooing to it. She's talking to the angels here.



Finally a smile for mommy! I just love her gummy smiles.



We are lucky and can just put her in her cradle wide awake, but sleepy and she'll go to sleep herself. I heard her moving around quite a bit through the monitor, so I went to check on her. My first thought was where is she?



I uncovered her, and there she was, just about 6 inches further down from where I had laid her! I don't know how she did it, but it sure was funny. The monkey is supposed to offer her comfort because it smells like me. I think she was moving so much because she was covered. Funny girl! When I was an infant, my mom would put me at one end of the crib, and in the middle of the night, would hear my head hit the other end of the crib and she would go move me back down. Camree is moving the opposite way, and on her back!

Lounging in her cradle. She loves it, as do Corey and I! One of the few times I put her down not swaddled, and it didn't last long.



Camree was blessed on Feb 7th, but we forgot to take pictures that day. This is a week later. Corey and I didn't like any of the blessing outfits available for purchasing, so a week before, we went to JoAnne's and purchased fabric and ribbons and I made it. The ribbons are pewter and pink. Simple and sweet. Not shown are the cute crocheted shoes my good friend, Nancy made for her.



Our first family picture. We are usually behind the camera, and I know it's dark and full of shadows on our faces, but it's still a decent picture. We need to get better at capturing the moments, and ourselves!



Getting ready to go hike Ensign Peak. A slightly cold and wet President's Day, but we had already made plans and weren't going to change them!



At the top of Ensign Peak with Arabella. Amanda quit at the bottom of the hike when her new shoes got muddy. Click to enlarge and you'll see the mud on our shoes! It was fun, and there was another group of three people that were crazy enough to hike it too. On our way down, we passed yet another group. I am sure in warmer, more dry weather, it's much more popular!



Close-up. Camree's hat covered her entire face, so she was plenty warm but we had to see that cute face for the picture! It was snowing a little too.



The following four images are in sequence. It was a good talk, and she was in such a great mood! I was able to capture some funny faces too, but also a couple different smiles.




She is such a talker, and in a good mood most of the time. She keeps scratching herself with her claws, even though I trim her nails. Thank goodness for mittens!

One of the felines, Lily, staking claim on one of Camree's chairs. I try to keep it clean, and then they climb in, so I use a blanket for Camree to sit in, until I can clean it again, and they climb on the blanket.



The other feline, Abbie, the same day, and I had moved the blanket from Lily to clean the chair.



We got home one day from running errands, and both felines had decided they could fit in the chair together. They don't think anything is wrong with sleeping there.



She sure is happy to be 2 months old! We love the mosquito for reference too. Camree looks so much like her daddy here. Well, he always wanted a daddy's girl!!

Early Life with Camree - Month 1

I still am trying to catch up, so this is still early on in our new family life. We can honestly say she is so fun, and has been from the beginning!



This is the only picture I have of her IV. This is her second IV, the other one was on her other hand. We watched them put this IV in, and it wasn't so bad, for us or her. She sucked hard on her binky, but didn't hardly make much noise other than grunting once, and they had to try three times before it didn't blow. They have a cool light machine that they hold under hand while it's lit, allowing them to see the veins in tiny hands. They put a piece of cotton under the needle, and then a larger piece of cotton in their palm, and then cover it with tape. It helps the tiny needle to not be pulled out. Every one of her nurses were in love with her by the time we were leaving, and they all couldn't get over how beautiful she was. One of our favorite nurses, Bev, glued this bow on her head using Elmer's glue. She glued each of the four wings, in addition to the knot, so this bow stayed on her head for about 2 weeks! We didn't want to peel it off for fear of peeling her skin off too, and it was so cute anyway.



This is a closeup of her and her going home outfit. We left the hospital Monday, the 11th at night, but I still wanted to dress her like we were going out with fanfare! She deserved it after all she had been through.



More of her going home outfit. The pants didn't originally go with it, but it was cold out and I didn't want her to get chilled. She has these cute metallic pink shoes on that are too big for her.



Waking up in her cradle. We have a little Houdini on our hands, and boy is she proud of herself each time she gets out of her swaddle. She is 8 days old here.



Just a picture of how small she is in her carseat. She doesn't mind going anywhere in it, luckily!



This is after her first bath in the bathtub. Previously, we had washed her in the kitchen sink, but she kept kicking the side of the sink making it difficult. She is getting more used to the water, but definitely does not like being cold.



I don't know how babies can sleep in so many uncomfortable looking positions, but they sure do pull it off!



Another example of her being Houdini. This is on Sunday and she is wearing a dress, in case anyone thinks we don't dress our child.

Heather brought Arabella over to meet her (Camree was almost a month old, so it was past time for them to meet!). The next images are of Bella's expressive face as she meets, hugs, and kisses Nammee (as Bella pronounces Camree's name.). Camree is not so sure of this meeting.

I forgot to take her picture with something in it for reference, but she's growing nicely. At this point, she was about 9 lb. 9 oz. and 22 inches long. She is a good eater, a great cuddler, and we are spoiled because at about 2 weeks old, she started waking up only once at night, so the best sleeper I could ask for!
